Rapids Camp Sagana Successfully Hosts the Rafting World Cup Series 2026
Rapids Camp Sagana successfully hosted the Rafting World Cup Series 2026, which concluded last week in Murang’a County. The event attracted participants from 35 countries, with teams from 18 nations competing in the three disciplines of Sprint, RX (Raft Cross), and Slalom.
The week-long championship, held from 6th to 12th July, welcomed more than 5,000 visitors, including athletes, government officials, rafting delegates, participants, and fans from across the world.
Rapids Camp Sagana, which boasts a fully equipped restaurant and professional outside catering services, demonstrated its capacity to accommodate and serve large numbers of visitors. The facility specializes in corporate events, special occasions, exceptional dining experiences, and team-building activities. Drawing on its many years of experience, the camp delivered high-quality hospitality and efficient services throughout the championship.
“We were serving meals to more than 500 people three times a day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That is no small task. We managed because of teamwork, the experience of our staff, and proper planning that ensured we adhered to the event schedule. Although we regularly handle large groups, the numbers during the World Cup Series were exceptional. I am proud that we successfully rose to the occasion,” said Martin Maina, Head Chef at Rapids Camp Sagana.
Countries represented at the event included Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Sudan, South Sudan, Italy, Japan, the Czech Republic, and Russia, among others.
