Rapids Camp Sagana: Home of Sports Tourism
The successful hosting of the Rafting World Cup Series 2026 at Rapids Camp Sagana firmly established the destination as Kenya’s premier hub for sports tourism. Beyond accommodating over 300 competing athletes, Rapids Camp Sagana also provided seamless travel bookings, transfers, and tour arrangements to the Maasai Mara and other national parks across Kenya, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the country’s rich wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.
Several international teams, including those from Russia, Japan, and Italy, extended their stay after the competition to explore Kenya’s tourism attractions, with Rapids Camp Sagana coordinating their accommodation, transport, and travel logistics.
One such visitor was Jan Havlicek, a Czech Republic rafting athlete, who travelled to Kenya with his nine-year-old daughter, Ruzena, for the week long championship.
“We are here not just for the race, but also to experience Kenya’s wildlife and nature. My daughter is nine years old, and she’s really enjoying Africa. Everything is new compared to Europe, and she’s excited to see wild animals. She also loves being by the river, enjoys the rafting here, and has fallen in love with the sport.”
