The Kenya Rafting Federation is the national governing body for rafting and water
sports. It was launched in December 2024, it’s aim is to inspire the love
of adventure in safety, inclusiveness and environmental stewardship. We strive
to expose people of all walks of life, develop skills and an awareness of our beautiful waterways.
Other than regulating the sport, the federation is dedicated to conserving our water
resources and rivers to position Kenya as a premier destination for rafting. By
bringing together water sports enthusiasts, we promote responsible practices to
improve lives and communities through rafting.
Our headquarter is located in Sagana, Kenya.
Main Purpose
The Main Objectives
- Coordinating and regulating and advancing rafting safety
measures activities within Kenya. - Promoting and coordinating National Tree Planting along major rivers
- Overseeing the certification and professional training of river rafting guides to
ensure quality and safety. - Promoting equality among all members of the rafting community, fostering a
cooperative and inclusive environment. - Promoting cooperation with major rafting bodies in the world.

A student of Strathmore University pursuing Bachelor of Commerce and a lover of Water Sports. She is in-charge of mobilizing young people and seeing the curriculum in schools
Mr. William Kinuthia – Secretary General and Head of Secretariat
Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the federation and Working with International Rafting Bodies
Julius Kamau, E.B.S – Patron, Kenya Rafting Federation
Julius Kamau is a renowned conservationist with over two decades of experience in environmental management, forest conservation, natural resource governance and water sports enthusiast. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, a Master of Arts in Environmental Planning and Management, among other credentials, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Climate Change and Adaptation.
